5 Tips for healthy lips
Though our lips are equally exposed to the outer world, its pollution, dirt as the other parts of the body, often we don’t take care of our lips as much as we take care of the other parts of the body. People visit the parlor or salon at regular intervals to treat their face, hair, hands, legs and even nails. But no such importance is given to the lips. Most of  the time it is overlooked, neglected. They do not have any sweat glands or oil and so it is important to take out some time to take care of our lips.

Drink fluids:
By staying hydrated, the lips can be kept moisturized and thus healthy. Drinking ample amount of water reduces the chances of developing chapped lips. Drinking juices of fresh fruits also help in keeping ourselves hydrated and our lips moisturized.
Intake of vitamins:
Certain vitamins like Vitamin A (found in carrot, spinach etc.) and Vitamin C (found in citrus fruits, etc.) act as antioxidants and minimizes the free radical effect on our cells. Free radicals are capable of damaging the cells its functions. Vitamin A helps in the maintenance and repair whereas Vitamin C helps in recovering from the damage caused by the sun rays. So these are extremely essential in keeping our lips healthy.
Necessity of Vitamin E:
Found in nuts, leafy vegetables, etc. Vitamin E is noticed to be present in many skin care products including lip balms. This is so because, being an antioxidant, it is capable of fighting against the free radicals. It can also fight the effect of the harmful U-V rays. Thus, using a lip balm which contains Vitamin E as an ingredient can repair the damage caused to our lips after being exposed to the sun during the day. It also helps in reducing the signs of aging and helps in keeping the lips youthful, soft and pink.
Keeping them moisturized:
Other than drinking water, the lips can also be kept moisturized by applying coconut oil, olive oil, glycerin, petrolatum, sweet almond oil on the lips. Using a humidifier in our rooms moistens the room and thus our lips as well.
