Constipation is a common problem, which happens to many people on a regular basis. A poor diet, bowel problems and generally bad health can contribute towards it, but if you have it and you’re experiencing discomfort, all you can think about is getting rid of the problem and not feeling so bloated and in pain any longer. Here are some of the ways you can get rid of constipation quickly.

Exercise

You don’t need to have regular exercise in order to get rid of constipation – a quick workout can move your bowels and soon fix the issue. However, regular exercise will help to keep it at bay, so if it’s a problem which seems to occur regularly, start to exercise every day or every other day and it won’t be as big a problem anymore.

Take specialised pills

You can take pills such as actilax, which will help you to get rid of constipation very quickly. Some people prefer natural remedies, but pills are perfectly fine as long as you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients and you don’t become reliant on them and start using them every day to go to the toilet. Constipation can be prevented by a healthy diet, so you should only have laxatives on hand for when you really need them. Some pills are inserted while others are taken orally – people normally have a preference as to which and can buy the most suitable type or get them prescribed by the family doctor.

Drink plenty of water

Drink lots of water, particularly warm water, if you want to get rid of constipation in a matter of hours. It will help to get things moving within your body, and will also help you to feel better while cleaning out your internal system, such as your kidneys. Like exercise, you should try to consume plenty of water every day if you want to live a generally healthy lifestyle.

Plenty of fiber

Again, as with many things, fiber can quickly fix the problem of constipation, but it is better consumed on a regular basis in order to prevent the issue from occurring in the first place. Fiber can be found in foods such as granola, bran flakes, wholemeal bread, figs, dates, apples and bananas. Too much fiber can cause the opposite effect, though, so make sure you are eating it in moderate quantities.

Avoid dairy products

Diary is one of the reasons why constipation comes in the first place. Food products such as cheese, milk and yogurt are the reason why you’re finding it difficult to move your bowels in many cases, so avoid these and concentrate on foods, which are high in fiber. Within a few hours, you should find yourself free from constipation and able to carry out your daily tasks without having to worry about the pain in your stomach or the constant worry of constipation and when you will next be able to go to the toilet.
